Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download Ring App: Install the Ring app from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account or log in.
  2. Plug In Camera: Connect the camera to power. Wait for the light to begin flashing.
  3. Start Setup: In the Ring app, tap "Set Up a Device" from the main dashboard.
  4. Scan QR Code: Tap "I'm Ready to Scan" and scan the QR code on the back of the camera or beneath the cover.
  5. Press Setup Button: When prompted, press the setup button on the camera. The light will flash.
  6. Connect to Camera: Android connects automatically. iOS users may need to go to Wi-Fi settings to join the Ring network.
  7. Select Wi-Fi Network: Choose your 2.4GHz home network from the list and enter the password.
  8. Complete Setup: Wait for firmware updates if needed. Customize motion settings and add shared users.

Troubleshooting

  • Light not flashing: Unplug and replug the camera. Press the setup button if needed.
  • Can't connect to Wi-Fi: Only 2.4GHz supported. Move camera closer to router during setup.
  • QR code not scanning: Clean the camera area. Try entering the code manually.
  • Don't interrupt updates: Never unplug or press setup button during firmware updates.
  • Factory reset: Press and hold the setup button for 20 seconds.
