How to Set Up Your Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

What You'll Need

  • Roborock S8 Pro Ultra robot vacuum
  • Empty Wash Fill Dock
  • Smartphone with Roborock or Xiaomi Home app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network

Step 1: Set Up the Dock

Attach the base by firmly pressing both sides, then press the center connecting part until you hear a click. Place the dock against a wall on a hard, level surface. Ensure at least 0.7m in front and 0.5m above. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.

Step 2: Connect Power

Connect the power cable to the dock and insert all exposed cable into the cable slot. Plug into an outlet and power on the dock. Choose a location with good Wi-Fi coverage.

Step 3: Fill the Water Tank

Remove the clean water tank and fill up to the MAX line. Reinstall the tank. The dock will use this water to wash the mop and maintain humidity during drying.

Step 4: Prepare the Robot

Remove all packaging materials from the robot. Install the side brush and mop pads if not pre-installed. Place the robot on the dock to charge.

Step 5: Download the App

Download the Roborock app (or Xiaomi Home app if you prefer) from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account or sign in.

Step 6: Connect to Wi-Fi

Open the top cover of the robot to find the WiFi indicator. Press and hold the spot cleaning and dock buttons until you hear "Resetting WiFi." The indicator will flash slowly when ready. In the app, add a new device and follow the prompts to enter your Wi-Fi credentials.

Step 7: Start Cleaning

Press the clean button on the robot or use the app. The robot will first create a map of your home, then clean efficiently zone by zone in a zigzag pattern.

Troubleshooting

  • Won't connect: Ensure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi; check router is in range
  • Not docking properly: Remove obstacles; ensure dock is on level surface; clean sensors
  • Poor cleaning: Empty dustbin; clean brushes and sensors; check for blockages
  • Storage: Fully charge, turn off, and store in cool dry place; recharge every 3 months
