Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Keep Bulb Off: Don't install the bulb until the app prompts you.
  2. Open Hub App: Launch SmartThings, Sengled Home, or Alexa app.
  3. Add Device: Navigate to add new device > Light > Sengled.
  4. Start Pairing: Put hub in pairing mode.
  5. Install Bulb: Screw bulb into socket and turn on power when prompted.
  6. Wait for Discovery: The bulb will be found within 3 minutes (pairing window).
  7. Name and Assign: Give the bulb a name and assign to a room.

Troubleshooting

  • Bulb not found: Reset by turning on/off 10 times quickly. Bulb flashes when reset.
  • Won't connect to SmartThings: Disable "Secure mode" on hub. Keep hub 3+ feet from router.
  • Missed pairing window: Reset bulb and try again. Only have 3 minutes to pair after power on.
  • Colors look wrong: Calibrate in app if available. Some colors vary between bulb models.
  • Don't use with dimmers: Sengled smart bulbs are not compatible with dimmer switches.
