Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Charge the battery: Remove the battery by pressing the release tab. Charge using the included USB-C cable until the light turns solid green (4-6 hours for initial charge).
  2. Download the Ring app: Install and sign in or create a Ring account.
  3. Add the device: Tap "Set Up a Device" → "Doorbells" → "Battery Doorbell Pro."
  4. Scan the QR code: Find the code on the back of the doorbell or in the Quick Start Guide.
  5. Insert the battery: Slide the charged battery into the doorbell until it clicks.
  6. Enter setup mode: Press the orange button on the back. The ring light will spin blue.
  7. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the app prompts to connect your phone temporarily to the doorbell, then select your home Wi-Fi network.
  8. Choose installation type: Select "Battery Only" or "Hardwired" if connecting to existing doorbell wiring.
  9. Mount the doorbell: Use the included mounting plate as a template. Drill holes and secure the plate. Attach the doorbell by sliding it onto the plate from the top. Secure with the security screw.
  10. Configure 3D Motion: The app will guide you through setting up radar-powered motion detection and Bird's Eye View.

Troubleshooting

  • Doorbell won't enter setup mode: Ensure battery is charged and properly seated. Press and hold orange button for 20 seconds to hard reset.
  • Wi-Fi connection fails: Move closer to router during setup. Confirm 2.4GHz network and correct password. Check for MAC filtering on router.
  • Battery draining quickly: Frequent motion events drain battery faster. Adjust motion sensitivity and zones. Consider hardwiring for continuous power, or add Ring Solar Charger.
  • 3D Motion/Bird's Eye View inaccurate: Recalibrate in settings by accurately mapping your property boundaries. Ensure doorbell is mounted straight.
  • Head-to-Toe view not showing full person: Adjust mounting height—recommend 48 inches from ground to center of doorbell. Use included wedge mounts to adjust angle if needed.
