Step-by-Step Setup
- Download SwitchBot app: Install from App Store or Google Play and create an account.
- Check lock compatibility: SwitchBot Lock works with most thumb-turn style deadbolts.
- Clean mounting surface: Thoroughly clean the interior door surface where the lock will attach.
- Measure thumb turn height: If ≥3mm overhang, use Mounting Bracket A. If <3mm, use Mounting Bracket B.
- Attach mounting bracket: Use the appropriate bracket with 3M adhesive tape.
- Install batteries: Insert 2 CR123A batteries into the SwitchBot Lock.
- Mount the lock: Attach the SwitchBot Lock to the mounting bracket, covering your existing thumb turn.
- Open SwitchBot app: Tap + to add device, select Lock, and follow Bluetooth pairing.
- Calibrate: Set the locked and unlocked positions following app instructions.
- Set up Hub (optional): Connect a SwitchBot Hub Mini/Hub 2 for remote access and voice control.

Troubleshooting
- Lock slipping: Ensure mounting surface was clean. Consider using the screw-mount adapter.
- Motor struggling: Recalibrate. Ensure thumb turn moves freely by hand.
- Bluetooth range limited: Add SwitchBot Hub for consistent connectivity.
- Calibration failing: Make sure lock can fully rotate to locked and unlocked positions.
