What You'll Need
- TP-Link Kasa Smart Dimmer HS220
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Wire strippers
- Voltage tester
- Smartphone with Kasa Smart app
- 2.4GHz WiFi network
- Neutral wire required
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off power: Switch off circuit breaker for the switch.
- Remove existing switch: Unscrew wall plate and disconnect wires. Label them.
- Identify wires: Use voltage tester to identify Line (hot). Locate Load, Neutral, and Ground.
- Connect HS220: Connect Line to Line wire, Load to Load, Neutral to Neutral bundle, Ground to Ground.
- Mount switch: Push wires back and secure switch with screws.
- Attach wall plate: Install included wall plate.
- Restore power: Turn breaker on. LED will flash amber/green for setup mode.
- Open Kasa app: Tap "+" and select Smart Switches > Smart Dimmer.
- Connect to WiFi: Follow prompts to connect to your 2.4GHz network.

Troubleshooting
- LED flashing amber/green: Normal setup mode. Complete WiFi setup in Kasa app.
- Won't connect: Ensure 2.4GHz network (not 5GHz). Move phone closer during setup.
- Flickering lights: Check bulb wattage doesn't exceed limits. Try different LED brand.
- Factory reset: Hold switch for 10 seconds until LED flashes amber.
