What You'll Need
- Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch (Matter version)
- Standard door prep (2-1/8" bore, 1" edge bore)
- 4 AA batteries (included)
- Thread border router
- Smartphone with Yale Access app or Matter controller
- Screwdriver
Step-by-Step Setup
- Remove existing deadbolt: Unscrew and remove the current lock from both sides of the door.
- Install Yale latch: Insert the new latch bolt and secure with screws.
- Install strike plate: Position and secure the strike plate on the frame.
- Mount exterior assembly: Place the exterior assembly with fingerprint reader and thread the cable through the door.
- Connect interior assembly: Plug in the cable and secure the interior unit with screws.
- Install batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries.
- Test operation: Verify the thumb turn and bolt operate smoothly.
- Download Yale Access app: Complete initial setup including fingerprint enrollment.
- Add fingerprints: Register fingerprints for authorized users through the app.
- Add to Matter: Scan the Matter QR code with your controller app.

Troubleshooting
- Fingerprint not recognized: Clean the sensor with a dry cloth. Re-enroll the fingerprint. Register multiple angles of the same finger.
- Slow fingerprint response: Clean sensor. Ensure finger is dry and positioned correctly. Update firmware via Yale app.
- Matter connection issues: Check Thread border router status. Reset lock network settings and re-pair.
- Lock jams: Check door alignment. Verify latch isn't binding in strike plate. Adjust as needed.
- Fingerprint not enrolling: Clean your finger and sensor. Try a different finger. Ensure you're following the enrollment process completely.
