Problem Description

Your tado Smart Thermostat is not controlling your heating/cooling system properly, showing wrong temperature, or not following the schedule.

  • Thermostat not properly wired
  • Internet Bridge offline
  • Geofencing not working correctly
  • Temperature sensor reading incorrectly
  • HVAC system issue

Solutions

1. Check Internet Bridge

  1. Ensure Internet Bridge is powered
  2. Check LED is solid green (connected)
  3. Bridge needs Ethernet connection to router
  4. Power cycle if LED shows error

2. Verify Thermostat Connection

  1. Open tado app
  2. Check if thermostat shows online
  3. If offline, thermostat may need reinstalling
  4. Check wireless signal in settings

3. Check Wiring

  • Follow tado installation guide for your system
  • US systems vary (R, Rc, Rh, C, Y, W, G wires)
  • European systems use different wiring
  • Consult HVAC professional if unsure

4. Calibrate Temperature

  1. Place a separate thermometer near tado
  2. Compare readings
  3. In app, adjust temperature offset if needed
  4. Avoid placing near heat sources or windows

5. Fix Geofencing Issues

  1. Check location permissions for tado app
  2. Set to Always Allow location access
  3. Ensure all family members have app installed
  4. Check geofence radius in settings

6. Check Schedule

  1. Review schedule in tado app
  2. Ensure time blocks are set correctly
  3. Check if Away mode is overriding schedule
  4. Manual changes may override schedule temporarily

7. Factory Reset

  1. Remove thermostat from wall
  2. Press reset button with paperclip
  3. Hold for 10 seconds
  4. Set up again in tado app
