RainMachine Pro-8

The RainMachine Pro-8 is an 8-zone smart irrigation controller that downloads real-time weather data to automatically adjust watering schedules based on current and forecast conditions. Unlike controllers that use imprecise zip code data, RainMachine uses exact street address location to obtain weather information from a 2.5km (1.5-mile) grid, sourcing data from multiple meteorological services including NOAA, Weather Underground, NetAtmo, CIMIS, and more. EPA WaterSense certified, the controller can qualify for local water municipality rebates.

WiFi connectivity (802.11n) with excellent sensitivity ensures reliable connection anywhere in your home, and the latest hardware includes a 10/100 Ethernet port for wired reliability. Smart home integration spans Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings for voice control, with additional IFTTT support for custom automations with Nest, Wink, and other platforms. The RainMachine continues operating normally even when WiFi is down, with all data stored locally rather than on third-party servers for privacy.

The controller automatically adjusts watering based on temperature, wind, and rainfall, and protects against unexpected freezing or extreme heat conditions. Separate Master Valve (pump) connector and onboard rain/flow sensor connectors accommodate professional irrigation setups. The web interface and mobile apps (iOS and Android) provide complete remote control for scheduling, zone management, and usage monitoring. Setup takes approximately 15 minutes, and the open API allows integration with home automation systems. Also available in 16-zone configuration for larger properties.
