- Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller (16-Zone)
- Existing sprinkler system with up to 16 zones
- Rachio app on smartphone
- WiFi network (2.4GHz)
- Wire strippers and screwdriver
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off power: Switch off circuit breaker for existing sprinkler controller.
- Document wiring: Photograph existing controller connections before removing.
- Remove old controller: Disconnect all wires and unmount.
- Mount Rachio 16-zone: Secure mounting bracket. This model is larger than 8-zone.
- Connect zone wires: Attach zones 1-16 to corresponding terminals.
- Connect common wires: Multiple common terminals available for complex systems.
- Master valve/pump: Connect to M terminal if your system uses one.
- Connect power: Wire to AC terminals or use power adapter.
- Power on: Turn on breaker. Light pulses during startup.
- App setup: Download Rachio app, scan QR code, connect to WiFi.
- Configure all zones: Name and customize settings for each of the 16 zones.

Troubleshooting
- Multiple zones not working: Check common wire connections. May need additional common terminals.
- Pump not activating: Verify M terminal connection. Enable pump/master valve in app.
- WiFi range issues: Larger property may need WiFi extender near controller.
- Schedule conflicts: Ensure zones don't overlap in schedules to maintain water pressure.
- Offline frequently: Check power supply. Ensure stable WiFi connection.
