Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off power: Disable the circuit for your current sprinkler system.
  2. Photograph existing wires: Document how your current controller is wired.
  3. Remove old controller: Disconnect all wires and remove the old unit.
  4. Mount Wyze controller: Install in a sheltered outdoor location or indoors.
  5. Connect wiring: Attach zone wires to terminals 1-8. Connect common wire(s) to C terminal.
  6. Plug in power: Connect the included power adapter.
  7. Open Wyze app: Download if you don't have it. Sign in or create account.
  8. Add device: Tap "+" > "Add Device" > "Sprinkler Controller."
  9. Follow pairing: Put controller in pairing mode and connect to your WiFi.
  10. Configure zones: Name zones and set plant types, sun exposure, and soil type.
  11. Set schedule: Create watering programs or enable Wyze's smart scheduling.
  12. Enable weather skip: Automatically skip watering when rain is forecast.

Troubleshooting

  • Controller offline: Check WiFi signal at installation location. Power cycle if needed.
  • Zone not watering: Verify wire connections. Try manual run from the app.
  • Smart schedule overwatering: Adjust zone settings—reduce watering duration or frequency.
  • 5GHz WiFi error: Wyze only supports 2.4GHz. Ensure you're connecting to the right network.
