Step-by-Step Setup
- Install batteries: Remove back cover and insert 2 AA batteries.
- Attach to spigot: Screw the timer onto your outdoor faucet. Hand-tight is sufficient.
- Connect hose: Attach your garden hose or drip system to the timer outlet.
- Download Rachio app: Install if you don't have it already.
- Add device: Tap "+" and select "Smart Hose Timer."
- Enable pairing: Press the button on the timer until light flashes blue.
- Connect WiFi: Select your 2.4GHz network. Timer must be within WiFi range.
- Name your timer: Give it a descriptive name like "Back Garden" or "Drip System."
- Create schedule: Set watering days, times, and duration.
- Test the timer: Run a quick manual cycle to verify operation.
