What's in the Box

Your Roborock Saros Z70 package should include: the Saros Z70 robot vacuum with its integrated mechanical arm (OmniGrip), the docking station, a power cable, side brush, mopping pad, dust bags, cleaning solution, and the quick start guide. Confirm that all parts are present and in good condition before proceeding.

Prerequisites

Get these items and conditions ready before starting setup:

  • A stable 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi network
  • The Roborock app downloaded on your iOS or Android device
  • A level area near a wall outlet for the docking station with 1.5 feet of clearance on each side and 4 feet of open space in front
  • Floors cleared of small objects, loose cables, and lightweight items — especially important given the Saros Z70's OmniGrip arm can interact with objects on the floor

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Position the docking station: Place the dock against a wall on a hard, flat surface. Connect and plug in the power cable. Fill the clean water tank and add Roborock floor cleaning solution. Install a new dust bag in the auto-empty compartment if applicable.
  2. Prepare the Saros Z70: Remove all protective films, packaging tape, and foam inserts from the robot. Pay special attention to the OmniGrip mechanical arm — ensure its protective covering is removed and the arm moves freely. Install the side brush by snapping it onto the underside mount and attach the mopping pad magnetically.
  3. Initial charge: Place the Saros Z70 on the docking station to begin charging. The LED indicator will pulse while charging. Allow a full charge of approximately 4 to 6 hours before the first cleaning run for optimal battery performance.
  4. App pairing: Open the Roborock app and tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select "Roborock Saros Z70" from the device list. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the robot to your WiFi network. When prompted, press and hold the power button on the robot until it confirms it is in pairing mode.
  5. Run the first map: Start a mapping session from the Roborock app. The Saros Z70 utilizes StarSight Autonomous Navigation with LiDAR and an advanced camera system to build a detailed 3D map of your home. The robot will also identify objects on the floor, which it can later learn to pick up and move using the OmniGrip arm. Leave all interior doors open for a comprehensive map.
  6. Configure OmniGrip and cleaning preferences: After mapping, open the map in the app to label rooms and set per-room suction and water flow levels. Configure the OmniGrip arm settings to define which types of objects the robot should pick up and relocate during cleaning. Set no-go zones, no-mop areas, and schedule automated cleaning sessions as desired.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The Saros Z70 supports Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Siri Shortcuts. Link your Roborock account through the Alexa or Google Home app to enable voice commands such as "Alexa, tell Roborock to start cleaning" or "Hey Google, vacuum the bedroom." On iOS, use the Roborock app to create Siri Shortcuts for quick voice-activated cleaning. You can also incorporate the Saros Z70 into smart home routines that trigger cleaning when you leave home or at specific times of day.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the robot won't pair with the app, reset the WiFi by pressing and holding the power button and home button together for 3 seconds. Make sure your phone is connected to the same WiFi network. If the OmniGrip arm is not functioning, check for any remaining packaging or obstructions around the arm mechanism and ensure the latest firmware is installed through the Roborock app. For docking issues, verify that the dock is on a level surface and that the charging contacts on both the dock and robot are clean and unobstructed.
