- Position the sensor: Mount 6-7 feet high in a corner for best PIR coverage. The sensor detects motion and light levels.
- Configure automations: Set up actions when motion is detected or based on light level.
- Test detection: Walk through the sensor's field of view to verify it detects motion.
Key Features
- PIR motion detection
- Light level (lux) sensor
- Matter over Thread
- Long battery life (up to 5 years)
- Compact design
- Works with Apple Home, Google Home
- Automation triggers
- No hub required
Troubleshooting
- Not pairing: Ensure Thread border router is online. Reset by inserting a pin into the reset hole for 5 seconds. Move closer during setup.
- Motion not detected: PIR sensors detect motion across their field of view. Avoid pointing directly at expected traffic path.
- False triggers: Move away from heat sources, HVAC vents, or direct sunlight which can trigger PIR sensors.
- Light sensor inaccurate: Sensor measures ambient light near its location. Position may need adjustment for accurate readings.
- Battery draining: High activity areas report more frequently. Normal battery life is 3-5 years with typical use.
