Solutions
- Configure associations - Use Z-Wave associations to directly link buttons to devices for fastest response.
- Set up in hub - Configure button actions in SmartThings or Home Assistant automations.
- Check parameter 1 - This controls button mode: 0=scenes (for hubs), 1=basic (for direct control).
- Central scene support - Ensure your hub supports Z-Wave Central Scene command class for multi-tap.
Battery Draining Quickly
Symptoms
- Battery dies in weeks
- Low battery warnings frequent
Solutions
- Check wake-up interval - Parameter 86 controls how often the device checks in. Increase to 86400 (24 hours) to save power.
- Avoid constant pressing - Each button press wakes the device and uses power.
- Use quality battery - Use name-brand CR2450 lithium batteries for longer life.
- Reduce associations - Fewer associated devices means less transmission power per button press.
Swipe Gestures Not Working
Symptoms
- Swipe up/down not detected
- Touch sensitivity too low
Solutions
- Enable swipe - Parameter 3 controls swipe detection. Set to 1 to enable swipe gestures.
- Firm swipe - Swipe firmly from edge to edge of the touch panel.
- Configure in hub - Create automations for swipe-up and swipe-down scene events in your hub.
