Control4 and Crestron touch panels require professional installation but can be integrated. This guide covers basic troubleshooting.

Panel Not Powering On

  1. Check PoE connection if using ethernet power
  2. Verify PoE switch provides adequate wattage
  3. Direct power adapter as alternative
  4. Control4: Check HC (home controller) is online
  5. Crestron: Verify processor connection

Network Connection Issues

  1. Panel must be on same network as controller
  2. Check ethernet cable connection
  3. WiFi connection may need configuration
  4. Verify IP address assigned (DHCP or static)
  5. Access panel settings via touch interface

Control4 T4 Series Issues

  1. Requires Control4 controller (HC-250/800/EA)
  2. Programming done via Control4 Composer
  3. Software updates via dealer/installer
  4. Panel connects to controller over IP
  5. Check controller is online and responsive

Crestron Panel Issues

  1. Requires Crestron processor (MC4/CP4/etc)
  2. Programming via Crestron Toolbox/Studio
  3. Panel communicates via CIP or SIMPL
  4. Check processor IP settings
  5. Verify programming is loaded on processor

Touch Screen Calibration

  1. Access calibration in panel settings
  2. Follow on-screen touch targets
  3. Clean screen with microfiber cloth
  4. Avoid screen protectors that affect touch
  5. Recalibrate if touch seems offset

Home Assistant Integration

  1. Control4 OS 3 has limited third-party API
  2. Crestron can use Home Assistant integration
  3. Both may require custom integration work
  4. Consider as display for HA dashboards instead
  5. Some users run HA dashboard on panels via browser
