Fibaro offers premium Z-Wave devices including the KeyFob, Motion Sensor, Button, and Wall Plug. This guide covers pairing and control issues across these devices.

Device Not Joining Network

Symptoms

  • LED blinks but won't join
  • Hub can't find device
  • Pairing times out

Solutions

  1. Exclude first - Put hub in exclusion mode and click device button 3x to clear.
  2. Factory reset - For each device, see manual for specific reset sequence.
  3. Close to hub - During pairing, keep device within 3 feet of Z-Wave controller.
  4. Include button - Click button 3x quickly to enter inclusion mode.
  5. S2 security - Accept S2 security prompt. Some devices require DSK entry.

KeyFob Buttons Not Working

Symptoms

  • Buttons not triggering scenes
  • LED doesn't light on press
  • Wrong sequence executed

Solutions

  1. Check battery - Replace CR2450 battery if LED doesn't light.
  2. Configure sequences - Use hub settings to assign scenes to button presses.
  3. Multi-tap support - Configure single, double, triple press and hold actions.
  4. Lock/unlock - Enable key lock to prevent accidental activations.

Motion Sensor Issues

Symptoms

  • Motion not detected
  • False triggers
  • Temperature/lux not reporting

Solutions

  1. Eye orientation - Fibaro eye should face the detection area, not the ceiling.
  2. Sensitivity - Adjust parameter 1 for motion sensitivity (1-5).
  3. Blind time - Parameter 6 controls cooldown between detections.
  4. Battery - Low battery reduces sensor responsiveness. Replace CR123A.
  5. Report thresholds - Configure temperature and lux reporting thresholds.

Wall Plug Control Issues

Symptoms

  • Won't switch on/off
  • LED ring not responding
  • Energy monitoring not working

Solutions

  1. Check load - Verify something is plugged in and drawing power.
  2. LED ring - Configure LED ring behavior via parameters (power display, on/off).
  3. Overload protection - If overload triggered, plug shuts off. Reduce load.
  4. Energy parameters - Enable energy reporting in device parameters.

Button Actions

Symptoms

  • Button clicks not registered
  • Scenes not triggering
  • LED color not visible

Solutions

  1. Battery - Replace ER14250 battery if button unresponsive.
  2. Central scenes - Hub must support Z-Wave Central Scene for multi-tap.
  3. Configure actions - Set up press, double press, hold, and release actions.
  4. LED brightness - Adjust LED brightness if not visible.
