Fibaro offers premium Z-Wave devices including the KeyFob, Motion Sensor, Button, and Wall Plug. This guide covers pairing and control issues across these devices.
Device Not Joining Network
Symptoms
- LED blinks but won't join
- Hub can't find device
- Pairing times out
Solutions
- Exclude first - Put hub in exclusion mode and click device button 3x to clear.
- Factory reset - For each device, see manual for specific reset sequence.
- Close to hub - During pairing, keep device within 3 feet of Z-Wave controller.
- Include button - Click button 3x quickly to enter inclusion mode.
- S2 security - Accept S2 security prompt. Some devices require DSK entry.
KeyFob Buttons Not Working
Symptoms
- Buttons not triggering scenes
- LED doesn't light on press
- Wrong sequence executed
Solutions
- Check battery - Replace CR2450 battery if LED doesn't light.
- Configure sequences - Use hub settings to assign scenes to button presses.
- Multi-tap support - Configure single, double, triple press and hold actions.
- Lock/unlock - Enable key lock to prevent accidental activations.
Motion Sensor Issues
Symptoms
- Motion not detected
- False triggers
- Temperature/lux not reporting
Solutions
- Eye orientation - Fibaro eye should face the detection area, not the ceiling.
- Sensitivity - Adjust parameter 1 for motion sensitivity (1-5).
- Blind time - Parameter 6 controls cooldown between detections.
- Battery - Low battery reduces sensor responsiveness. Replace CR123A.
- Report thresholds - Configure temperature and lux reporting thresholds.
Wall Plug Control Issues
Symptoms
- Won't switch on/off
- LED ring not responding
- Energy monitoring not working
Solutions
- Check load - Verify something is plugged in and drawing power.
- LED ring - Configure LED ring behavior via parameters (power display, on/off).
- Overload protection - If overload triggered, plug shuts off. Reduce load.
- Energy parameters - Enable energy reporting in device parameters.
Button Actions
Symptoms
- Button clicks not registered
- Scenes not triggering
- LED color not visible
Solutions
- Battery - Replace ER14250 battery if button unresponsive.
- Central scenes - Hub must support Z-Wave Central Scene for multi-tap.
- Configure actions - Set up press, double press, hold, and release actions.
- LED brightness - Adjust LED brightness if not visible.
