Inovelli smart switches feature LED notification bars and extensive customization. This guide covers common issues.
Switch Won't Pair
Zigbee or Z-Wave pairing issues:
- Air gap: Pull out air gap switch, wait 10 seconds, push back in
- Factory reset: Hold config button 20+ seconds until LED turns red
- Pairing mode: Tap config button 3x quickly for pairing mode
- Zigbee channel: Try changing Zigbee channel if interference suspected
- Z-Wave exclusion: Run exclusion on hub before trying to include
- Close to hub: Pair while switch is close to hub, then install
LED Bar Not Working Right
Notification LED issues:
- LED disabled: Check if LED bar is disabled in parameters
- Brightness: LED brightness may be set very low - adjust in settings
- Color settings: On/off colors configurable - may be set to same color
- Notifications: Notification effects override normal LED behavior
- Clear notifications: Send clear command to stop active notification
Dimming Issues
When dimming doesn't work properly:
- Bulb type: Configure switch for LED, incandescent, or other load type
- Min/max brightness: Set minimum level to prevent flicker, max to prevent buzz
- Ramp rate: Adjust dimming speed in parameters
- Neutral vs non-neutral: Non-neutral installs may have dimming limitations
- Smart bulb mode: Enable for smart bulbs to keep power constant
Multi-Tap and Scenes
Button scene configuration:
- Enable scenes: Scene/multi-tap must be enabled in parameters
- Hub support: Your hub must support scene commands (central scenes)
- Button mapping: Up/down, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, hold, release all available
- Config button: Config button can also trigger scenes
