What You'll Need
- IKEA FYRTUR blind (with included hardware)
- DIRIGERA hub or TRADFRI gateway
- Drill with bits
- Screwdriver
- Level
- Measuring tape
- IKEA Home Smart app
Step-by-Step Installation
- Measure your window: FYRTUR blinds come in fixed sizes. Verify your blind fits within the window frame or measure for outside mount.
- Charge the blind: Connect the included USB cable to the blind's charging port. Charge fully before installation (approximately 8 hours).
- Install mounting brackets: Position the brackets at each end of the window frame. Use the level to ensure they're aligned. Drill pilot holes and secure with screws.
- Set the blind length: Before mounting, adjust the bottom position by manually rolling the blind to your desired stopping point.
- Mount the blind: Insert one end of the roller into a bracket, then snap the other end into place. The blind should click securely.
- Test manual operation: Pull down gently to extend. Give a slight tug to activate auto-retraction.
- Set up the hub: If not already done, set up your DIRIGERA hub using the IKEA Home Smart app.
- Pair the blind: In the app, tap "Add Device" and select "Blinds." Press the pairing button on the blind (small button near the charging port) and hold for 5 seconds.
- Calibrate positions: Follow the app prompts to set the fully open and fully closed positions.
- Create schedules: Set up sunrise/sunset automation or custom schedules in the app.
