How to Set Up Your Dreame L20 Ultra

What You'll Need

  • Dreame L20 Ultra robot vacuum
  • Base station with auto-empty and mop washing
  • Smartphone with Dreamehome app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network

Step 1: Position the Base Station

Place the base station against a wall on a level, hard surface. Ensure at least 1.5 meters of clear space in front and 0.5 meters on each side. Connect the power adapter and plug into an outlet.

Step 2: Prepare the Robot

Remove all protective packaging, foam blocks, and the camera protection sticker from the robot. Install the side brush by pressing it onto the underside until it clicks.

Step 3: Fill the Clean Water Tank

Remove the clean water tank from the base station. Fill with clean water up to the MAX line. Only use Dreame-approved cleaning solution if desired. Reinstall the tank.

Step 4: Initial Charge

Place the robot on the base station charging contacts. It will turn on and begin charging automatically. A full charge before first use is recommended.

Step 5: Download and Set Up the App

Download the Dreamehome app from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account or sign in. Tap "+" in the upper right corner to add a new device.

Step 6: Connect to Wi-Fi

Scan the QR code on the robot to begin pairing. Follow the in-app prompts to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your password and wait for connection confirmation.

Step 7: Start Your First Clean

Press the button on the robot or base station, or use the app to start cleaning. The robot will first map your home, then begin systematic cleaning.

Wi-Fi Reset (If Needed)

To reset Wi-Fi: Press and hold the home and spot cleaning buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until you hear a voice prompt.

Troubleshooting

  • Won't connect: Ensure you're using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz
  • Not returning to dock: Check for obstacles; ensure dock has clear line of sight
  • Poor cleaning: Empty dustbin; clean brushes and sensors; check for tangled hair
  • Frozen/unresponsive: Hold power button for 10 seconds to force restart
