What You'll Need
- SmartThings Hub (v3/Aeotec)

Step-by-Step Setup
- Choose connection type: The hub can connect via Ethernet (recommended) or Wi-Fi.
- For Ethernet setup: Connect the Ethernet cable from your router to the hub's Ethernet port.
- Connect power: Plug in the power adapter. The hub LED will start flashing as it boots up.
- Wait for ready state: The LED will turn solid green when the hub is ready for setup (about 2-3 minutes).
- Download SmartThings app: Install and sign in with your Samsung account.
- Add the hub: Tap "+" → "Device" → "SmartThings" → "Hub." The app will search for nearby hubs.
- Select your hub: Choose your hub from the list when it appears.
- For Wi-Fi setup: If not using Ethernet, the app will prompt you to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Complete registration: Accept terms and assign the hub to a location and room.
- Update firmware: The hub will automatically check for and install firmware updates.

Troubleshooting
- Hub not discovered: Ensure phone and hub are on the same network. Move closer to the hub. Try power cycling the hub.
- LED meanings: Solid green = ready. Blinking green = booting/updating. Yellow = no internet. Red = error. Blue = ready for Bluetooth pairing.
- Devices not pairing: Move device within 15 feet of hub during pairing. Put device in pairing mode first, then search in the app. Try general Zigbee/Z-Wave device option.
- Automations not running: Check that local execution is enabled. Verify all devices in the automation are online. Test individual device control.
- Hub offline frequently: Check Ethernet connection or Wi-Fi signal. Ensure router is stable. Try a static IP address for the hub.
