What You'll Need

  • Philips Hue Tap Dial Switch
  • Philips Hue Bridge (required)
  • Philips Hue app (iOS/Android)
  • Hue lights already configured

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. The Tap Dial is ready: No batteries needed - it's kinetic powered
  2. Open Hue app: Go to Settings → Accessories → "Add accessory"
  3. Press any button: Press a button on the Tap Dial to make it discoverable
  4. Select when found: Choose the Tap Dial from the list
  5. Configure buttons: Assign rooms or scenes to each of the 4 buttons
  6. Configure dial: Set which lights the dial controls for dimming
  7. Choose dial action: Dial can dim or change color temperature
  8. Mount: Use included wall mount (screws or adhesive) or place on table

Troubleshooting

  • Dial not dimming: Ensure dial is assigned to lights in app. Check which lights are selected
  • Button not responding: Press firmly. Kinetic mechanism needs a solid click
  • Dial direction wrong: You can invert dial direction in app settings
  • Can't add to app: Press any button firmly, then immediately search in app
  • Factory reset: Hold buttons 1 and 4 simultaneously for 10 seconds
